Colouration somewhat inspired from pie bald pythons.
Ah! Amazingful day.
I met up with a couple of local indie game developers over coffee today who are looking for an artist to help with their games. I was anxious and freaking out over the weekend when I made my portfolio to show them. I've never made one before, and it's made me realise how much work I haven't done. For a long while now I've been meaning to explore drawing environments, but nope, no work to show in that department.
So.
That must be rectified.
Despite crappy portfolio, I feel like the talk I had with the developers went well. :D
They gave me a task to do for them to test my abilities and see if what I do is what they're looking for.
I'm excited about what they've asked. They want 3 creature designs for a fighting game (pokemans styleru) presented in a minimum of 3 styles with two environment designs.
I am.
Sho exciteddddd. When I got to tafe afterwards I just scribbled out my ideas. tbh, they suck. But I got down what profile of creatures I want to create. I came up with four, so either I can aim high and try doing one extra than necessary (and potentially seem like a try-hard?), ooorrr if the work load is too much I will drop one. The monsters I want to make:
Lizard, flying type, fierce appearance, ranged attacker - has tiny limbs that aren't that effective in melee.
Fur mammal, fights with long claws or fangs, cute but tough look , quick melee - high evasion?
Aquatic, silly, frivolous natured, tank - either has a shell-like armour or just general high defense
Horned, elegant, fights with psychic/telekinetic abilities
Only have sketches for the lizard type so far. It's a winged Chinese dragon-ish thing. I'm thinking making it have centipede legs. Or just maybe, like, six? Will have to sketch it out and see if it's ugly.
Sighhhhh. I want this lizard one done by tomorrow. But I'm also behind in a lot of my tafe shit. Brahgud.
oh well. brehg.
Updates are all on neptune blues.
Yep. I'm not going to link them. Back to laziness it is.
