I only had an hour and a half to make sure I had a doodle uploaded today. I feel like I should have more to show than just this scribbly Fenris.
I think I spent half the time just getting the sketch done, then rushing the colours and everything else. Picking colours is difficult for me! I remember I used to slap around anything and be happy with what I'd do, but now I feel like I have to keep ajusting the colours until they feel "right". Bother bother!
I wanted the DD today to be mega colourful. Maybe if I had more time to plan this Fenris colouring I could have done something better?
Since my last post I've done some small doodles and a few effort-y ones.
I started a group on facebook for drawing challenges, sort of like the oekaki competitions.
Every week I'll set a theme and people choose whichever medium to create and produce something in relation to the theme. The first week was kind of a success! I was really happy that people posted~ I was worried they'd be a bit shy about it, or think it was dumb.
For the first week I set the theme as ANTLERS.
This was a challenge for me, as it should be, because I don't think I've ever drawn deer or proper antlers before. I did some study sketches and then one effort drawing.

Hunting for Witches
Antlers are tough! I think I ended up with something moose-like in the end.
This pic was also some practice with two source lighting.
This week's challenge is Cyan, Magenta and Yellow.
I want to make an animation of colours blending and recreate an old oekaki.
I need to upload the test animation I did with primary colours, but here is a fail doodle I did for the recreation:
Doink
I wanted to redraw an old oekaki where I used these colours to draw Leopold.
And now for some TAFE shit.

ANOOBIS WITH CULUR!
For an assignment where we design game bosses. Our game is about a phoenix who seeks out other phoenixes (phoenixi?) in mythological, underworld-ish places.
Lately I've been thinking more and more about character design, which started before we got this bosses assignment. I've always liked character designs and studying them. Is this a passion in life? I'm not confident with creating designs, but I like recreating them - close enough?
Fenris' design has always interested me. I was thinking about it last night (it was brought on from this weird suprise obsession with Jaqen H'ghar) and today had the itch to test myself if I could draw his face yet.

Mar-ER - her fanarts are AWESOME! The way she uses colour is sick too.
I want to learn from her, but I will resist. xD I want to stubbornly stay true to myself and find my own way of colouring, however she does use techniques I've always wanted to test out! Ahhh, eventually.
Maybe when I finally get some vidyas for Venus out.
